Breast Lift is a very common surgery and these scars leave behind a specific scar pattern

Women will have these scars from a breast lift or reduction, mommy makeover, and often on the healthy side of a unilateral mastectomy

Often, we see a similar scar pattern around the outside of the areola in a breast lift or reduction. 

The Nipple/Areola Complex is either removed from the body and replaced, or moved with the vascular support still attached.  

Lack of blood flow can cause a tissue die-off and necrosis may set in.

Sometimes the scar is severe enough that the nipple falls off entirely!!
